White Pines Snow Scrapbooking Layout

Although we spent most of last week with seventy degree weather, this morning's weather brought a chance of snow!  Even though there was nothing on the ground, I thought it would be a good chance to make my last project with the White Pines paper pack.  This collection retires on Thursday, so if you like it, make sure to snag yourself a pack before it leaves.  The background color of my blog is not ideal for this photo, but click on the photo itself for a larger image.

To create this page, I started with 2 sheets of the Colonial White paper as my base.  I took the blue B&T paper from the pack and cut off the zip strip to be the center pieces of the border.  To create the borders on the right and left, I cut a piece of the blue B&T paper at 1 1/4" x 10" and the placed a 3/4" x 12" piece of Colonial White on top, after inking the edges with Glacier ink.  On top of that, I placed the zip strip.  To create the snowflake square, I cut a square of Glacier cardstock (not included in the White Pines paper pack) at 2 3/4" and then layered a 2 1/2" square of colonial white on top.  The snowflake square was cut at 2.3" from the blue B&T paper using the Artistry cartridge.  I added a little spot of sparkle from the Bitty Sparkles to the center of the snowflake and the bottom and top of the border.

The snowflake stickers are from the White Pines Complements and are slightly popped off the page using the thin 3-D tape.  I used the small sparkle flourishes (no longer available, but you can create your own swirl designs with the Bitty Sparkles assortment) to highlight the title and other spaces on the page.  The title is cut using Art Philosophy at 1.75".  I cut both the Glacier and the blue B&T at the same size and then offset them to create shadow letters.  I added some more Bitty Sparkles to the openings in the letters.

The photo mat sizes are 4" x 6" (5 of them), 3 1/2" x 6", 3 1/2" x 4" and 3 1/4" square. The photo spaces are 1/4" smaller than the mats.

White Pines Christmas Card

I thought it would be fun to make a variation of the Christmas card we made at the crop last Friday night.  I've really enjoyed the White Pines paper pack and hate to see it go at the end of this month.  To create the card, I used one of the cards from the Colonial White Cards & Envelope value pack, because it was easy!  From there I added a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of B&T paper from the White Pines paper pack onto the base.

From the same sheet of paper, I cut a 2 1/4" square for part of the layered frame.  I cut a red 2 3/4" square from the Cranberry Cardstock and a Colonial White square at 2 1/2".  From the red B&T (B&T refers to the patterned papers) I cut a 4" x 1" strip and for the bling, I cut a 4" strip of gold shimmer trim.  Time to hit the Cricut!  
The wreath is from the Artistry Cartridge and is cut at 2.7" wide on Fern Cardstock.  To create the scallop piece, I used the scallop border from the Artistry cartridge and working in Cricut Design Space, I added a square from the "add shapes" selection and converted it to a rectangle. I then welded the 2 shapes together so that the finished shape was 4" x 2 1/8".  I also cut a 2" circle in Colonial White using the "add shape" selection as well.
I inked all the edges in either Fern, Cranberry or Champagne ink and stamped the sentiment using the This is Christmas stamp.  At $2.95, it's an inexpensive stamp your Christmas cards!  I used the ShinHan Sap Green marker to vary the green color on the wreath and added dimension with three small red enamel gems.
Using 3-D foam tape, I popped up the square and the Christmas Joy circle too.  (It's a bit hard to see the effect in the photo.)  Thanks for visiting and have a Merry Christmas!

White Pines Holly Scrapbook Layout

     I think I take more pictures at Christmas than any other time of the year.  Family is visiting, the decorations are up and there are just so many memorable moments to capture!  Because of this, I wanted to get a head start on my Christmas pages and also because these pretty papers will be disappearing at the end of this month!  I grabbed my White Pines Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go Kit and started playing.

    I used the holly and leaves stamps and cut the coordinating Cricut shapes using the Artistry cartridge. I stamped the leaves in Fern and the berries in Cranberry.  I adhered them with thin 3D foam tape to the 1 3/4" red B&T squares.  (I like the thin 3D foam tape for less bulk.) I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut a 3" square in the Fern cardstock.  

The zigzag B&T paper is 11" long by 1" wide and is mounted on Cranberry Paper.  To top this, I cut a Cranberry 1 3/4" red square with a 1 1/2" zigzag square and cut it in half.  A little tricky as you have to cut the zigzag on an angle so it will line up correctly with the border.  Here's a photo of the zigzag before cutting:

     I used Fern twine to create little bows to finish off the top.  I thought the border was finished until I looked and saw it sitting on the blue B&T paper and thought, "Hey, I like that." so it stayed and became the 2 1/2" wide border background.  For the title, I used the Art Philosophy cartridge and welded the letters together.  The capital letters are 1 1/2" high.  For the greenery, I went back to the Artistry cartridge and cut out the garland at 1 1/2" and then snipped off the pieces I wanted to use.

Candlelight Garden Stamp of the Month

December 1st marks the start of a new month and a new stamp of the month.   Candlelight Garden is a pretty stamp set and a great opportunity to play with the new watercolors set and paintbrushes!  I was a little anxious at first, I haven't used watercolors since grade school!  A little practice was in order, so I stamped 4 of the flower and jar images onto watercolor paper with black archival ink and let them dry. Then it was time to play!

I selected the best of the of my practice images for the card.  I liked the flowers in this one although I was a bit heavy handed with the blue on the jar.  To create the card, I selected a pattern from the Wishes card making book and cut the top piece at 5"x 3".  The green B&T paper is from the Kaleidoscope Paper Pack and is cut at 5 1/2" x  3 1/2". I added in a Pixie cardstock cut at 6 1/4" x 4 1/4" and the card base B&T (from the Kaleidoscope Paper Pack) is 5" x 7".  I inked the edges with Pear, Pixie and Gypsy inks.  

The sentiment is stamped with Gypsy ink and mounted on Gypsy paper.  I wrapped Whisper Thick Twine around the bottom 3 layers and popped the top layer with 3D foam tape.  Three sparkles from the Clear Sparkles Assortment finish the card.  Candlelight Garden is a charming set for a thank you or friendship card.

Sangria Family Border

 Happy Thanksgiving!  Hope your day is filled with love and delicious food!  I thought a family border would be appropriate for today.  I started with a 2 1/2" strip of B&T paper from the Sangria paper pack and layered it with a 2" Eggplant strip and then topped that with a 1 3/4" strip of the leaves B&T paper. 

All the Cricut items on this border are from the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  I cut the word "Family" and then glued the heart shape that was cut out onto the end of the word.  The inner frame is cut from Champagne paper and I drew a black frame line with the  LePen journaling pen and inked the edges with Pomegranate ink.  The outer frame from is cut from the purple B&T paper.  I used the thin 3D tape to give it some dimension.  All paper except the New England Ivy (for the leaves) is from the Sangria paper packet. I finished the border with flowers from Sangria Assortment.

Sangria Thank You Card

This is always a great time of year to focus on your blessings and be thankful, so I thought a thank you card would be in order!  I created this card using the Sangria paper pack and added New England Ivy cardstock to create my card base and frame for my sentiment. 

I used the CTMH Cricut cartridge Art Philosophy to cut the leaves (size on stamp set) out of the solid color cardstock from the Sangria paper pack and then embossed them using the Harvest Happiness stamp set with VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder.  I cut the sentiment shape out using the Artiste Cricut cartridge (size on stamp set, just made the green frame slightly larger) and then stamped the sentiment using the Casual Expressions stamp set. The zip strip is layered on a 1/2" strip of Eggplant paper and then layered on the 1 1/2" wide light patterned paper.

Celebrating Fall with Sangria!

What better way to celebrate fall than with Sangria!  I couldn't wait to start playing with the beautiful rich colors in the Sangria Collection from CTMH!  

I started with the Champagne Cardstock from the paper pack as the base to my pages and then continued with the B&T patterned paper - gorgeous for fall!  I did add a sheet of New England Ivy cardstock because I felt the page needed some green.  I used the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to create the vine and leaves (Loved the heart shape in the leaves and used the cut out heart shapes to embellish the Generations frame!) at the top and to make the oval and oval frame under the Generations sticker from the Sangria Complements.  I used Cricut Artiste to create the scallop heart under the Love sticker.  Although there is no stamping on this page, I did sponge everything with the coordinating inks in

 New England Ivy, Eggplant and Pomegranate because I love the defined look that gives to the paper pieces.  The rest of the page is embellished with items from the Sangria Complements.
